Our local government client relies on a labour-intensive, manual process to compile critical business insights from multiple applications into a monthly Power BI report. This approach poses several challenges:

The Solution
Our local government client was transitioning some of their applications, which meant we had to retain some of the Excel exports due to the changing application landscape.
- We ingested data into a central repository where appropriate.
- To enhance value derivation, we transformed manual business logic into a technical solution.
- For the remaining spreadsheets (which couldn’t be fully automated yet), we configured a Power BI data gateway.
- Our visualisation experts enhanced the reports, aligning them with best practices.
- The gateway allowed the Power BI report to pull information directly from the spreadsheets, reducing manual steps.
