Providing comprehensive WHS data analysis with clear recommendations to empower the client in the Education sector during the transfer of the new reporting system

The Problem

The client was in the process of moving their WHS reporting solution over to Salesforce for reporting.

The client required a partner to analyse historical data so they could shape the new solution to be user-friendly together with the ability to create comprehensive and meaningful work health and safety historical reporting. A key driver for this work was the current solution disconnect from the 21 identified WHS risks. Clear paths needed to be identified to map the selections to the 21 key risks and to further understand the historical data and user pathways. A large portion of the data needed to be validated, requiring the data to be cleansed, mapped, and adapted to the enterprise approach of data governance, allowing meaningful insight and analysis. The department had a further need for a future back-end system ensuring historical data capabilities and insights were considered during the future state build and ultimately the adoption of the new solution.

The Solution

Exposé began by understanding the current solution and user pathways. Multiple sets of data were then gathered and consolidated.

Exposé also examined the future technical landscape and user pathways. The four key data sets were consolidated, cleansed and mapped against the 21 key WHS risks. Related columns were analysed and graphed in order to conduct a comprehensive analysis across the four main reports. Once overlaid, the analysis was conducted, user pathways were captured, and recurring themes were documented in order to enable future state build.

Exposé then documented the full analysis together with recommendations by key risks and supporting graphs to guide the department during future state building but also to ensure the back-end system capability to view the historical data is in place.
